About Us...

At Southern Cross Ministries, we share God’s message of love to everyone who listens. Through our programs and counseling services, we invite others to come into HIS light and follow the path towards the Kingdom of God. We proudly serve the South Texas Coastal Bend.

What We Believe...

Our ministry firmly believes in five important principles:

1. God loves YOU & offers an incredible plan for your life!

Throughout the Bible, there are numerous passages that show exactly how much God loves us. The greatest example of this was when He sent His only begotten son Jesus into the world to die for our sins. Even today, He watches over us and pursues our hearts to embrace a spiritual relationship with everyone. (John 3: 16)

2. Man is sinful and is separated from God.

There are a lot of good people in the world. We may find it natural to assume that each of these “good” people has the key to Heaven because they have done so many wonderful things. But the truth is that each one of us have sinned.

“For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3: 23)

“For the wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6: 23)

Through sin, we are separated from God; we cannot get to Him on our own. There can be no sin where God is.

3. Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for man’s sin.

God provided a “sacrifice” for all of our sins: His own son, Jesus.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, even in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5: 8)

Now, this is the amazing truth: It was Jesus’ death that paid for all of the sins we have committed, as well as those that we’ll commit in the future. There had to be a blood sacrifice and Jesus willfully gave His life for us.

The most incredible fact to realize, however, is that three days after He died, He rose from the dead! This is historical truth.

Because Jesus rose from the dead, He now sits at the right hand of God, making intercessions for each of us.

Christ died for our sins. He was buried and raised on the third day according to the scriptures. Jesus appeared to Peter, then to the 12 Disciples. After that, He appeared to more than 500 others. (I Corinthians 15: 3-6)

4. Jesus is the only way to God.

For many people, this is the hardest to believe. All of us must remember that there are no other “ways” of Salvation or “paths” to God.

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14: 6)

It is a great responsibility to be called Christians, which means “Followers of Christ.” You must understand that to be a good person, to believe in God and to simply do your best to serve Him, is not what it means to be a Christian.

It’s impossible to follow God without accepting His son, Jesus Christ. JESUS is the only way to Salvation for mankind. It was Jesus who died on the Cross to pay for our sins. It is Jesus that we must accept and come in to a relationship with if we are to be called by HIS name.

5. You must receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

We must all receive Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and Lord.

“But to as many who received Him, to them He gave the right to become Children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” (John 1: 12)

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and not of yourselves.” (Ephesians 2: 8-9)

Below is a simple prayer of Salvation. It may be similar to a prayer you’ve already said before, but for others, this is the actual time of decision. If you have already said this prayer and know that you are a Christian, just say a special prayer for people who may be praying this prayer for the first time.

If this is your moment of Salvation, kneel right where you are and pray this prayer to God. HE is listening and waiting in great anticipation. Pray these words with a sincere heart if they truly represent your heart’s desires and your decision to follow Christ:

Dear Jesus,

I need You in my life. I acknowledge that I have sinned and I come to You right now confessing and asking for Your forgiveness. Thank You for dying on the Cross to cleanse me of my sins.

I believe You are the true Son of God and that You rose from the dead and are alive today. I gladly open the door of my heart and receive You as my Savior and Lord.

"Thank You" for forgiving all of my sins and for granting me eternal life in Heaven with You forever and ever. Please guide my life from this moment forward and help me to be the kind of person you want me to be.

In Jesus’ name, I pray,

Amen.
